The Puerto Rican Euphonia is the latest bird added to the endemics list in the island of Puerto Rico. It was formerly considered as a subspecies of the Hispaniolan Euphonia. It’s commonly known in Spanish as Jilguero. This species exhibits sexual dimorphism. The specimen represented in the pin is a male and it was documented in Cayey, PR.
